Join Solid Ground’s Advisory Council!
Are you a current or former participant in one or more of Solid Ground’s programs? Want to give input into decisions affecting the direction of Solid Ground’s programs and services? Come share your voice and join us in building a community free from poverty, prejudice and neglect!
Mission
The mission of Solid Ground’s Advisory Council is to provide a forum for Solid Ground clients’ voices to be valued, heard and acted upon.
Purpose
The purpose of Solid Ground’s Advisory Council is to:
- Provide feedback on programs and proposals before they are taken to the Board of Directors.
- Identify gaps in services (unmet needs) and current issues members may be experiencing – and share ideas about ways that services can be improved.
- Provide legislative advocacy: Determine critical issues for the Washington State legislature to address, and help advocate for change by testifying about these issues at hearings.
- Share experiences directly with Solid Ground donors.
Why join the Advisory Council? One member's thoughts:
Involvement includes...
- Be available for meetings once a month (currently the 3rd Monday of each month).
- Actively voice your opinions and share your experiences with the group.
- Make a commitment to building community to end poverty.
Solid Ground provides reimbursement for transportation to/from meetings, childcare and dinner.
