YWCA Career Pathways holds an information session every Wednesday from 11-2pm at the Downtown WorkSource. They are currently recruiting for their Medical Office Professional program. Students are supported with tuition, books, exam or licensing fees and job placement. Classes starting Spring Quarter are available through South Seattle College or Seattle Vocational Institute. You can get credit for classes you have already completed and experience gained from employment. This program will help you get your diploma rather than a GED. Each school has their own Basic and Transitional Studies department. Contact the school that you are interested in to learn more about their schedules and availability.
The YWCA is supporting Women In Manufacturing. There will be a symposium to learn about the experience of women working in the field and how to get into manufacturing careers. Swissport Cargo Services are holding a hiring event on Wednesday, March 2 and Thursday March 3 from 10am-3pm on both days at the Airport Jobs Office. They are hiring for warehouse cargo agent and mail agent positions. These positions start at $15.24/hour. Both positions require a Washington State driver’s license and the ability to lift 50 pounds. You must provide a 10 year employment and education history. Interviews are first come, first served.
