Solid Ground’s Family Shelter program recently received a donation of 35 unique, beautiful, warm and amazing quilts made by members of Quilts From The Heart.

All of the quilting work and materials are donated – this includes the fabric, batting, sewing and quilting. They have donated OVER 11,000 handmade quilts to more than 30 organizations serving at-risk children, teenagers and adults, primarily in the Puget Sound and Ocean Park areas of western Washington.

Quilts From the Heart was founded in 1993 in Edmonds and has members of all ages and genders. There are chapters in Bellevue, Algona-Pacific, Ocean Park and Poulsbo, and several active members in Alaska, Arizona, California, Louisiana and Oregon. The motto of this nonprofit organization is ‘No Pressure’ – leaving the quilters free to create, share their skills, and contribute with joy.

The donation to Family Shelter included crib-, lap- and twin-sized quilts, all of which are very much appreciated!
