Tax day is quickly approaching – a stressful time for many. Knock out your taxes with help from United Way of King County at a location near you!
From now until April 20, 2017, United Way will offer free tax preparation services at 27 locations throughout King County. Any household earning less than $64,000 in 2016 can use these services and get connected to other community resources and public benefits. However, some returns are too complex for their volunteers. For example, they cannot prepare returns for income earned in states other than Washington.
Tax help is available in your neighborhood and in your language from IRS-certified volunteers. They’ll help you get all the credits you qualify for and file your return electronically, so you’ll get your refund fast. Locations can be found throughout King County with daytime, evening and weekend hours available. No appointments are needed.
Solid Ground is a tax help site with hours on Tuesdays, 5 – 9pm and Saturdays, 10am – 2pm. To find a location near you, languages available, a detailed list of what to bring, and other information, visit United Way’s website or call 2-1-1. In addition, you can file your taxes online for free with United Way’s easy to use My Free Taxes tool.
