Things may be winding down and wrapping up at Marra Farm, but that doesn’t mean that we haven’t been busy. Last month we hosted nearly 80 AmeriCorps volunteers dedicating their time to help harvest, turn beds, spread wood chips, weed, and plant cover crops. Each volunteer spent approximately four hours volunteering, meaning we clocked nearly 320 service hours on a single Friday!
The rain held out and the farm looked completely in only a few hours. Many thanks to the Washington Reading Corps, MLK VISTA, and Apple Corps members from Solid Ground for their hard work!
