On a crisp fall day in September, we held the Marra Farm Fall Fest. This was a chance for the many people who grow food at Marra Farm (including Mien farmers, P-Patch gardeners, and Lettuce Link staff and volunteers) to come together with our South Park neighbors to celebrate a successful season.
Zucchini grilled |
Flowers were planted into old shoes |
Sack races run |
And Farmer Sue celebrated her birthday with help from the Fandango Project |
We also painted pumpkins, stuffed scarecrows, grilled salmon and ate delicious foods from around the world.
And what would a Fall Fest be without photos taken with the creatively-shaped tromboncino squash?
Special thanks to our food donors and those who volunteered their time, including:
Beecher’s Cheese, Central Co-op, Essential Baking Company, Mike Golla, QFC, Seattle Fandango Project, Seattle Pacific University CityQuest students, Steve Tracy, and Stockbox Neighborhood Grocery
