Apple Corps, a team of nine Americorps service members based out of Solid Ground, works to address the root causes of hunger and other health inequities in under-served communities. Through placement at schools, community organizations, and government agencies, Apple Corps members aim to improve access to nutritious food, physical activity, and health resources– guided by visions of social, racial, and environmental justice. Amelia, one of Lettuce Link’s Americorps members, is part of this cohort.

Apple Corps recently launched a blog, and it’s pretty fabulous! We encourage you to take a peek. The most recent entry is written by Heidi Evans, who organizes nutrition and wellness activities with 80 homebound seniors through the grocery delivery program Partners in Caring. She does a whole lot more, too- read more here!
Service terms last from Sept-July or Oct-Aug, so stay tuned if you’re interested in applying for a position next year. Remember, though, that Americorps funding is at risk– please consider contacting your Senators today to save service in America.
