WHAT: United Way is offering free tax preparation for individuals making less than $66,000 per year. United Way can assist with how to save a portion of your refund for savings purposes. They also help individuals access free financial coaching resources, healthcare, public benefits and ORCA LIFT alongside tax prep services. No appointment necessary. Last customer will be served 45 minutes before listed time. (Please note: If filing with your spouse, both parties must be present.)

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY – VETERANS HOMEOWNERSHIP INFO SESSION

WHAT: Habitat for Humanity Seattle/King County is working hard to provide affordable homeownership opportunities and home repair assistance to US veterans who have served or are currently active in the military. Homeownership opportunities available in Pacific, WA. Home repairs with ADA adaptability are also being offered in select neighborhoods.
Veterans Program Criteria:
- Open to anyone who has served in the US Armed Forces

- Applicant(s) must be committed to being a full-time partner in the construction of their home

YOUNG ADULT SHELTER AT NEW HORIZONS
WHEN: Sundays – Thursdays, 9:30pm – 7:30am, Friday & Saturday, 9pm – 7:30am
WHERE: New Horizons (2709 3rd Ave, Seattle, WA 98121)
WHAT: New Horizons has re-launched their Young Adult Shelter. The operation is 7 days/week serving youth ages 18 to 24 looking for safe shelter. The shelter offers 12 Resident beds and 10 Emergency Beds. New guests always get a bed.
Resident Beds:
- Reserved for Youth and Young Adults (YYA) interested in increased stability
- New Horizons staff partner with YYA on identifying housing-related goals
- Beds are assigned; eligibility is reevaluated monthly (beds will be released nightly at 10pm unless staff is notified of residents’ late arrival prior)
- Assigned locker
- Extra consideration for the Youth Employment Program at New Horizons
- Extended laundry access on Monday afternoons
All YYA with Resident Beds are required to fill out a housing plan with the shelter manager and complete a goals check-in monthly. Minimum of two chores/week and be present in the shelter a minimum of 5 nights/week.
Emergency Beds:
- Nonresidential, on a night-by-night basis (drop-in or call to reserve)
- Drop in hours: 7 – 9pm, Sundays – Thursdays, and 9pm, Fridays/Saturdays
- First-come, first-served basis
