Solid Ground’s Benefits Legal Assistance (BLA) program is looking for a Social Worker to join their team! This new position will expand on the services BLA provides and represents a tangible step toward achieving the “all doors” model – a holistic approach to ensuring every client gets exactly what they need, no matter where they’re coming from.
The Social Worker position will support the work of the legal team and partner with attorneys and legal assistant staff to ensure clients’ needs are being met in a holistic way, and any barriers to accessing public benefits are removed. They will also independently assist clients in applications and renewals for public benefits, provide general case management for BLA clients, and engage in community outreach to build a network of support for clients.
“The ‘all doors’ model [means that] if we have a client that comes to us or from another community partner, we ensure that the client gets the services they need – if not from us, then from another provider.” ~Grete Schultz, BLA Program Manager
BLA Program Manager Grete Schultz explains, “The ‘all doors’ model [means that] if we have a client that comes to us or from another community partner, we ensure that the client gets the services they need – if not from us, then from another provider.
“The grant is also calling this concept the ‘combined arms’ plan. It emphasizes forming intentional partnerships such as working with FamilyWorks or the United Indians of All Tribes Foundation, which we have begun doing.”
The position is being funded through the King County Veterans and Senior Citizens Levy, which aims to promote healthy living, housing and financial stability, service system improvement and access for veterans and military service members and their respective families, seniors and their caregivers, and vulnerable populations.
