For the last 50 years, Solid Ground has been able to provide life-changing services for more than one million people thanks to a committed community of funders, volunteers, and advocates who share our vision of a community beyond poverty. Our work would simply not happen without them.
So as we continue to feel the impact of inflation and the skyrocketing cost of living across King County, we’re especially grateful for the multiyear funders who commit to supporting Solid Ground now and in the years to come – recognizing the time and work it takes to create change! Multiyear grants allow us to provide consistency for our participants, stability for our services, and long-term planning for the initiatives and programs our community needs to thrive.
This past quarter, we were grateful to receive two multiyear commitments from Liberty Mutual Foundation and NW Children’s Foundation – both of whom are longtime partners in Solid Ground’s work to end poverty and undo racism in our region.
Liberty Mutual Foundation seeks to empower individuals struggling to thrive amid challenging situations, because they believe that progress happens when people feel secure. Their three-year grant commitment of general operating funds to meet basic needs is especially impactful as we embark on Vision 2030 – Solid Ground’s new strategic plan – which outlines key community-identified initiatives to guide our work for the next six years.
Multiyear, general operating funding also gives us the flexibility to respond to our community’s changing needs while sustaining momentum toward larger initiatives and long-term strategies. With support from partners like Liberty Mutual Foundation, we’re excited to take bold steps toward our vision for more equitable and thriving communities.
The NW Children’s Foundation also has a strong history of making Solid Ground’s work possible. Since their first grant to Solid Ground in 1999, they’ve played a critical role in the Children’s Program at our Broadview Shelter and Transitional Housing, where children and teens have a chance to heal from the traumas of homelessness, domestic violence, and other childhood hardships.
With their support, we’ve nurtured multigenerational success for thousands of children and their families through programming like our weekly age-specific “Broadview Buddies” groups, where children learn about the attributes of healthy and unhealthy relationships while practicing social-emotional skills with their peers. Through the commitment of NW Children’s Foundation’s multiyear support, Broadview sustains an environment where children can heal, grow, and thrive alongside their family members.
We’re truly grateful to Liberty Mutual Foundation and NW Children’s Foundation for their longtime and ongoing support for and shared commitment to Solid Ground’s work! We’d also like to thank our new and returning grant partners who provided funding for Solid Ground in the last quarter:
