WHAT: Please join Financial Beginnings in collaboration with US Bank and Union Gospel Mission as we present our latest community forum from our Unraveling The Mysteries of Your Money series: “Why Are People Unbanked? A workshop on banking basics.”
Talk with a panel of experts on topics such as:
- Why are people unbanked?
- Banking basics
- Why you should be banking
- Steps to opening an account
- The high cost of check cashers and payday lenders

KING COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY SECTION 8 LOTTERY
WHEN: Wednesday, April 5, 2017, 12:01am through Tuesday, April 18, 2017, 4pm
WHERE: Accepting applications online at the KCHA website.
WHAT: Every couple of years, King County Housing Authority holds a lottery for places on the Section 8 rental assistance waiting list. You may sign up online during the open period. After April 18, a random drawing will be held to place 3,500 people on the waiting list.

MARY’S PLACE “FRONT DOOR” PROGRAM HAS MOVED!!
WHEN: Monday–Friday, 9am-4pm
WHERE: Mary’s Place NEW ADDRESS: 1155 N 130th St, Seattle, WA 98133. The new location has onsite parking.
WHAT: Support for families experiencing homelessness who are currently unsheltered (cars, tents, outside). The Front Door staff and volunteers will actively support families to find housing solutions that work for them to help them move quickly out of their housing crisis. Each day, the Front Door staff and volunteers work directly with families on their housing search, helping with housing applications, locating housing resources, and offering employment support. Note: This program is a daytime program only; it does not provide nighttime shelter and does not guarantee nighttime shelter will be available.
