FOUR BLOCK VETERAN CAREER READINESS PROGRAM
WHAT: The Four Block Career Readiness Program is a university-accredited program designed to equip high-potential veterans to achieve great careers at our nation’s top companies. The program provides transitioning Post-9/11 veterans with the essential tools needed to jumpstart civilian careers. The goal of the program is to empower veterans, who are pursuing or have obtained their degrees, to obtain competitive internships and full-time positions at companies or organizations that match their interests, attributes and strengths. There is no fee for the class.
WHEN: There will be a kickoff networking event in Seattle for all students in all locations on Monday, October 5, 6:30–8pm; see below for full class dates at the various locations. (The Seattle class is our main campus class.)

SEATTLE
WHEN: Wednesdays, Oct 5–Nov 30, 6:30–8pm (no class Nov 23 due to Thanksgiving holiday)
WHERE: Class rotates among corporate hosts: T-Mobile, PwC, Starbucks, Amazon, One-Eighty Twist and Expedia
LAKEWOOD
WHEN: Mondays, Oct 10–Nov 28, 5:30–7pm
WHERE: RallyPoint/6 (Classes will have guest speakers and students will be invited to the Seattle events.)
TACOMA
WHEN: Mondays, Oct 10–Nov 28, 11:30am–1pm (Classes will have guest speakers and students will be invited to the Seattle events.)
WHERE: UW-Tacoma VIBE Center in the Tioga Library Building
OTHER
WHERE: Classes are also held for students attending UW-Bothell and Lake Washington Tech; you must be enrolled there to attend these campus classes.

Veterans emerge from our program equipped with:
- A community of veteran colleagues and industry professionals that will support them in beginning a new career
- A personalized career search strategy and execution plan
- Ability to communicate military experiences and qualifications into relevant business contexts
- Proficiency and confidence in writing targeted resumes and conducting successful interviews
- Corporate cultural competency and networking strategies for building professional relationships
The program is taught in partnership with Columbia University, PwC (PriceWaterhouseCoopers) and the Bob Woodruff Foundation. All classes include networking and class time with the corporate staff/recruiters. We teach, manage and mentor transitioning student-veterans throughout the cohort.

NEW CITIZEN CAMPAIGN WORKSHOP
WHEN: Saturday, October 15, 2016, 10am-1pm
WHERE: South Seattle Community College-Georgetown Campus, 6737 Corson Ave S, Seattle, WA 98108
WHAT: A citizenship workshop where a team of volunteer attorneys, paralegals and interpreters will help you with your citizenship application. It’s FREE for all eligible legal permanent residents (green card holders). The New Citizen Campaign is an effort to help the tens of thousands of Seattle legal permanent residents (LPRs) become U.S. citizens. This campaign utilizes outreach and education, citizenship curriculum and legal assistance, and engagement with local and national partners to achieve our goal of naturalizing the over 70,000 LPRs living in the Seattle/King County area.
