During this month of thanks and giving, we’re kicking off a new quarterly series celebrating the supporters who help make our work possible and sharing our gratitude for their shared belief in a community beyond poverty and oppression.
Solid Ground supporters come from all places, ages, and backgrounds, providing much-needed support in a variety of ways that together empower both direct services and systemic change in our community. From in-kind supply drives and event sponsorships to program and general operating grants, each gift plays a key role in this work and represents the diverse and caring community we serve.
In the third quarter of 2021, we received vital support from corporate partners and private foundations that will help to empower Solid Ground’s work through the end of this year, including our Broadview Domestic Violence (DV) Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing, Sand Point Housing campus, Residential Children’s Program, Stabilization Services, and Statewide Poverty Action Network, as well as general operating support that provides the foundation for all our programming, including agency-wide initiatives, capacity building, and core operating costs.
This quarter, we want to thank the Fales Foundation Trust, Tulalip Tribes Charitable Fund, and Wells Fargo for the generous support of Broadview, which uniquely provides a range of right-sized housing supports for survivors and their families experiencing homelessness as the result of domestic violence. Thanks to the support of our Broadview funders, we have been able to maintain our 24-hour staffing model for safety and crisis response throughout COVID-19, implementing Public Health recommendations such as HEPA filters, enhanced sanitizing procedures, and providing COVID-19 safety and vaccine information. Our Broadview staff have also gone above and beyond their pre-COVID roles to provide meals through bulk food orders and grocery delivery, support residents with tech access and troubleshooting for virtual school and telehealth appointments, and engage young residents in projects that nurtured and nourished during a period of isolation.
Additionally, we also want to share our gratitude for the following supporters, whose commitments this last quarter are making real, lasting change for our program participants and community members across the region: (in alphabetical order) The Arcora Foundation, The Biella Foundation, Safeway and Albertsons Foundation, Tableau Software, Union Bank, and the U.S. Bank Foundation.
At Solid Ground, we believe that no one organization can solve poverty alone. Our partners, supporters, and broader community are all critical pieces of the puzzle that will help us to create more equitable, resourced, and resilient communities where all people have the opportunity to thrive.
