The sun may be hiding, but the tulips shine bright! |
Marra Farm has been bustling with activity this month, due in large part to Earth Day! We’ve had several large work parties who have helped us plant carrots, beets, onions, spinach, lettuce, arugula, kohlrabi, broccoli, spinach, kale, chard, raspberries, strawberries, cilantro, and peas. The east end of the giving garden is finally drying out, so pretty soon we’ll be planting there, too. In addition to planting, volunteers of all ages have helped us repair our fencing, slash back thorny blackberries, and improve our farm paths.

Our kids’ programs have been marching onwards, too- students have finished planting their beds, and are now learning lessons such as eating the rainbow of garden veggies, experiencing different types of soil, and exploring the ecosystem of Marra Farm’s daylighted Hamm Creek.
