FREE SUMMER MEALS & RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
WHEN: Monday – Friday, June 27 – August 24, 2018, 9:30am – 4pm

WHAT: As school is ending, so is access to free breakfast and Free & Reduced Lunch. Luckily, United Way of King County has brought back the free Summer Meals program with 200+ meal sites spread across the state. Breakfast, lunch, supper and/or snacks will be served throughout sites during various meal times. Meals are free for all youth ages 18 and under. In addition, there will be fun learning activities!
Activities Include:

- recreational games

WOMEN’S WORTH & RIGHTS IN THE WORKPLACE

WHAT: This free workshop will provide tips and tools for effectively evaluating your worth and negotiation power, and will also cover local, state and federal labor standards and what to do when your rights at work are violated. The goal of the workshop is to prepare women with the skills and information needed to get the job, compensation and benefits that you deserve and to protect your rights in the workplace.

YOUTHCARE BARISTA & CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING ORIENTATION
WHEN: Wednesday, June 27, 2018, 3pm
WHERE: YMCA-Young Adult Services (2100 24th Ave S, Suite 250, Seattle, WA 98144)
WHAT: YouthCare is hosting a Barista & Customer Service Training orientation for young adults, ages 16-24, interested in the program. Orientation attendance is mandatory to complete enrollment. (Applications are due Wednesday, June 27 and the next cohort will begin Monday, July 2. One-on-one orientation options are also available.)
Eligibility requirements:
- Ages 16-24
- Legal to work in the U.S. with 2 forms of ID (photo ID and a birth certificate/social security card)
- “Unstably housed” (youth do not have to be literally homeless; please ask if you are unsure about qualifications!)

WHAT: Having issues with your DSHS cash, food, medical or childcare benefits? Legal advocates from Solid Ground’s Benefits Legal Assistance program and the Northwest Justice Project are at the White Center CSO every Thursday to answer questions and offer legal assistance.
