WHAT: Joan Uzelak, Mayor’s Office for Senior Citizens Employment Counselor, will discuss Networking, Resumes, Cover Letters, Interviewing and Job Searching Strategies. She has more than 10 years of job counseling experience. Lynda Hunter, Coordinator for the Seniors Training Seniors Computer Classes, will provide an overview of these free classes, which have been met with high acclaim since her tenure at the Mayor’s Office for Seniors.

ECOLOGY YOUTH CORPS: SUMMER JOBS
WHEN: Applications due Tuesday, April 11, 2017, to work June 26-July 20 or July 24-August 17, Monday-Thursday, 7am-3pm
WHERE: Work crews in King, Skagit, Snohomish or Whatcom counties
WHAT: The Washington Department of Ecology plans to hire 66 teenagers in northwestern Washington this summer as part of the Ecology Youth Corps. Participants will earn $11/hour. Applicants must be ages 14-17 by their first day of employment.
In 2016, youth corps crews picked up 1.2 million pounds of litter and cleaned 5,445 miles of roads statewide. Since 1975, the program has hired more than 12,000 Washington teens, offering them work experience, a summer job, and the chance to preserve our state’s natural beauty and protect the environment.
