WHAT: Literacy Source is holding new student orientations in January 2017 at their Lake City location. Literacy Source offers free classes and one-to-one tutoring to low-income adults in:

- GED Prep
- English & the Workplace

PAID BARISTA TRAINING PROGRAM

WHAT: The paid barista training program is hiring! Applicants must attend the orientation in order to apply. To learn more about the program and to complete an application, please attend a Barista Open House.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be between 16 – 24 years old
- Legal to work in the U.S. with 2 forms of ID (photo ID and birth certificate/social security card)
- Unstably housed, homeless or street involved
- Ability to complete an 8-week training program and willing to develop employment and education goals
- Have availability Monday – Thursday, 1 – 6pm, Friday 8:30am – 5pm

VALASSIS INTELLIGENT MEDIA HIRING EVENT

WHAT: WorkSource Renton is hosting a hiring event for Valassis Intelligent Media Delivery. They are looking to hire full-time first- and second-shift production workers to perform basic maintenance on assigned machines and components.
Requirements:
- Ability to multi-task
- Stand for an entire shift
- Have basic computer experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to learn quickly
Work schedule is Wednesdays – Saturdays. First shift, $12/hr. Second shift, $12.75/hr. Space is limited for this event; registration is required.

JUVENILE OFFENDER RE-ENTRY VIDEOS
WHAT: The Washington State Office of Public Defense (OPD) has released a series of web videos on juvenile re-entry. Juvenile court involvement can highly impact youths’ opportunities in areas such as housing, education, employment and even healthcare. OPD developed this series of web videos to help youth, their families and people working with the juvenile justice system better understand and address these unanticipated consequences.
