FREE, DISCOUNTED PRESCHOOL
WHEN: Applications due Monday, April 15, 2025
WHAT: The applications deadline is quickly approaching for the Seattle Preschool Program, which provides high-quality preschool programs for children living in Seattle who will be age 3 or 4 by August 31, 2025. Tuition is based on family size and household income, with most Seattle families qualifying for free preschool tuition.

FREE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES FOR SENIORS
WHEN: Applications due by May 9, 2025
WHAT: Applications are ow being accepted for the the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP), which provides eligible seniors with an $80 e-Benefit card that can be used for the purchase of fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs from authorized farmers, farmers markets, roadside stands, and community-supported agriculture programs (CSAs). To be eligible, you must be:
- Age 60+ (age 55+ if American Indian or Alaska Native) by June 15
- Living on a low income (no more than $2,413 monthly income for one person or $3,261 for two people—for each additional person, add $848)
- A resident of King County

DEADLINE REMINDER: FREE TAX HELP
WHEN: Tax returns due Tuesday, April 15, 2025
WHAT: If you make less than $80,000 a year (or less than $96,000 for non-single filers), the United Way of King County is available to do your taxes for FREE so you can get back more of your hard-earned money. Volunteers help you understand your tax situation, plus take advantage of credits like the Earned Income Credit, Child Tax Credit, and the Working Families Tax Credit to maximize your refund.
There are three ways to get FREE tax help:

FREE LEGAL HELP

WHERE: El Centro de la Raza, Historic Building, Top Floor, 2524 16th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144
WHAT: Volunteer attorneys from the Latina/o Bar Association of Washington (LBAW) and the community, along with volunteer interpreters, provide free 30-minute consultations on topics such as immigration, personal injury, worker’s rights, family law, and more. Availability depends on attorney expertise at each clinic.
Space is limited. Consultations are first-come, first-served in-person, and there’s no guarantee of being seen due to high demand and specific legal matters.

HELP WITH COURT PAYMENTS

With this workshop, you’ll learn how to petition for relief from fines and fees owed in a felony case, known as “legal financial obligations” (LFOs). FREE & LOW-COST VETERINARY CARE

WHAT: Seattle Veterinary Outreach, Washington Health Outreach, and Doney Coe Pet Clinic provide veterinary care for free or at a reduced cost to the pets of people experiencing homelessness and or living on low incomes.
Veterinary care is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Pet owners are encouraged to arrive early to secure a place in line.
Services are reserved for those experiencing homelessness or living with a low income, which is verified at clinics. Pet owners should bring their SNAP, EBT, WIC, SSI, or TANF cards. Alternatively, a letter confirming that the pet owner is living in subsidized housing or receiving housing vouchers is also acceptable.

WHAT: The Seattle Center will host its annual four-day FREE Seattle/King County Clinic on April 24-27 this year, offering medical, dental, and vision care for anyone who needs it – no insurance, ID, or proof of residency required. Available services include:
- Dental: Treatment for pain or discomfort, known or suspected cavities, swollen gums, and broken teeth.
- Vision: Vision screening, complete eye exams, prescription eyeglasses.
- Medical: Primary care, x-rays, mammograms, ultrasounds, select lab tests, immunizations, foot care, dermatology, physical and occupational (hand, wrist, elbow) therapy, acupuncture, nutrition, behavioral health, and more.

FREE OVERDOSE PREVENTION TRAINING

WHAT: Knowing how to respond when someone has overdosed can save a life. FEDERAL STUDENT AID APPLICATIONS NOW ACCEPTED
WHEN: Applications due June 30, 2025
WHAT: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open for all students and families applying for the 2025–2026 school year. While the final FAFSA deadline isn’t until June 30, 2025, students should apply as early as possible because some kinds of financial support are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Completing the FAFSA takes about an hour.
