WHAT: This free workshop provides tips and tools for effectively evaluating your worth and negotiation power. It also covers local, state, and federal labor standards and what to do when your rights at work are violated. The goal of the workshop is to prepare women with the skills and information needed to get the job, compensation, and benefits that you deserve and to protect your rights in the workplace.

JOB FAIR FOR LGBTQ YOUTH & ALLIES
WHEN: Saturday, March 30, 1 – 3pm
WHERE: Miller Community Center (330 19th Ave E, Seattle, WA 98112)
WHAT: Seattle Parks and Recreation will host a free job fair for LGBTQ youth and allies. Youth of all ages are welcome to attend, and there will be many employment opportunities for high school-age youth (14-19) and young adults (19-24). Attendees should come prepared to spend some time visiting the various booths, which will have representatives from private employers as well as City of Seattle youth employment and stipend programs.

COMMUNITY ACCOUNTABILITY COUNCIL (CAC) INFO SESSIONS at SOLID GROUND
WHEN: Thursday, April 4, 6 – 7pm
WHERE: Solid Ground, 1501 N 45th St, Seattle, WA 98103 (1st Floor, Cheryl Cobbs Murphy Meeting Room)
WHAT: Your voice matters! At Solid Ground, we believe that people know best what they need and should be involved in decisions that affect their lives. We invite you to join our new Community Accountability Council (CAC). Your input will help us understand and incorporate the real-life experiences of people who come to us for services to help shape Solid Ground policies and programs. Your voice will help promote community-driven solutions to issues affecting people experiencing poverty in the Seattle/King County area. Make an impact on YOUR community!
CAC members are asked to:
- Attend monthly 2-hour meetings (currently 4th Thursdays of each month).
- Actively voice your opinions and share your experiences with the group.
- Commit to support Solid Ground’s work to end poverty and undo oppressions that keep people trapped in poverty.
You’ll receive:
- A monthly honorarium of $75
- Dinner at meetings
Available as needed:
- Childcare during meetings
- Transportation to and from meetings

WHAT: Blessed Sacrament Church is hosting their weekly Sunday dinner. Meals are served with green salad, fruit salad, dessert, bread, coffee, milk, and juice.

FREE TAX PREP
WHEN: Now – April 18, 2019, Wednesdays, 5 – 9pm & Saturdays, 10am – 2pm
WHERE: Solid Ground, 1501 N 45th St, Seattle, WA 98103 (1st Floor, Cheryl Cobbs Murphy Meeting Room)
WHAT: United Way is offering free tax preparation for individuals making less than $66,000 per year. United Way can also assist with how to save a portion of your refund for savings purposes. They also help individuals access free financial coaching resources, healthcare, public benefits, and ORCA LIFT alongside tax prep services. No appointment necessary. Last customer will be served 45 minutes before listed time. (Please note: If filing with your spouse, both parties must be present.)
What to bring (required):
- Photo ID
- Social Security Card/ITIN letters for everyone included in the return
- Tax Statements (W-2, 1099, SSA-1099 forms, etc.)
- Health Insurance Forms (1095-A, 1095-B, or 1095-C)
Additional documents recommended:
- Bank Account Number & Routing Number
- Copy of Last Year’s Tax Return
