At Solid Ground, we understand that poverty and homelessness are the direct result of systemic barriers that keep many of our neighbors from living the vibrant and productive lives they deserve to live. That’s why we work to help people overcome these barriers while simultaneously seeking ways to remove them entirely.
One way we do that is through our partnership with Statewide Poverty Action Network, which works to advocate for the legislative solutions that communities experiencing poverty in Washington state say they need most. In the 2023 legislative session, which ended April 23, Poverty Action fought for a raft of bills designed to meet the basic needs of our neighbors, build more vibrant communities, invest in human services, and assure that everyone has access to dental health care.
