Welcome to the Apple Corps blog! Based in Seattle, WA, we are a cohort of nine AmeriCorps State/National members whose mission is to address root causes of hunger and other health inequities in underserved communities. To this end, you’ll find Apple Corps members working in schools, community institutions, and government agencies, fighting inequity from an anti-oppression lens.
Apple Corps is a project of Solid Ground, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing social services from an antiracist perspective. Throughout our term of service, all Apple Corps members participate in trainings and workshops on topics such as privilege, institutionalized racism, public health, and nutrition. Because Team-building goes hand-in-hand with our concept of effective, equitable community-building, Apple Corps also completes bi-monthly service projects throughout the Seattle region.
