Thanks for opening doors with us!
We’re grateful to all who joined us – both virtually and in person – to celebrate the remarkable work our community is doing to open doors and break down barriers to opportunities. It’s not too late to enjoy this powerful program with co-hosts Eva Walker (KEXP DJ/frontwoman for The Black Tones) and Neo Mazur, Solid Ground Community Food Education Manager, as they discuss our work with Solid Ground frontline staff members. You’ll also hear video testimony from people with lived experiences describing how Solid Ground holds open doors for them on their journeys to self-determination and stability. And it’s never too late to donate to support Solid Ground’s holistic approach to connecting people to resources and opening doors to opportunities for disenfranchised communities in our work to solve poverty across the Puget Sound region.

Meet our host
Eva Walker (she/her), KEXP DJ and The Black Tones frontwoman
Born and raised in Seattle, Eva is from a Southern family of educators and music lovers. This dual regional influence gives her band The Black Tones the perfect balance of simple and soulful with just enough grunge. As the host of KEXP’s Audioasis, Eva is closer to the Northwest music scene than most, which gives her an interesting perspective on the heart and soul of our community. Enjoy this playlist of songs recommended by Eva and others who love Solid Ground. We look forward to rocking out to the sound of opportunity with you!
