Solid Ground knows that to solve poverty, we need to build a community of partners – and this means coming together in times of celebration as well as times of struggle.
That’s why we were thrilled to join nearly 500 partners, volunteers, participants, and other community members for food, music, games, crafts, and fun at the Solid Ground Food Truck Roundup.
Together, we dug into food from a half dozen food trucks, played inflatable games like axe throwing and mini golf, jammed to music curated by KEXP DJ Troy Nelson, and perused wares from an eclectic collection of craft vendors – all in a former airplane hangar at Magnuson Park.
This magical evening wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our sponsors, including:
We also wanted to share a special thanks for Julia Calhoun, whose generosity allowed us to provide free tickets for residents of Solid Ground’s Sand Point and Broadview housing. Thank you, Julia!
Putting together an event like this also requires a small army of volunteers working behind the scenes. This includes volunteer photographer Rachael Green, who put together this collection of photos from the Roundup. Check ’em out!
